It depends. WeldCAD is not ideal for CNC applications, but it is substantially faster and easier for framing applications. The goal of WeldCAD is to significantly simplify the design and quoting process of steel fabrication shops.

In order to achieve the same functionality as WeldCAD from other softwares, the user would have to purchase base software and use a number of paid plugins. WeldCAD is significantly cheaper, more intuitive, and purpose-built.
